تأسست “ميتامورفوسيس” عام 2017 كمجلة رائدة مخصصة للفلسفة والثقافة والفنون، وهدفها مواجهة الأيديولوجيات المدمرة السائدة في المنطقة.

مع مرور الوقت، حقق مشروعنا نجاحًا كبيرًا، وجذب العديد من الكتاب الموهوبين إلى فريقنا. وإدراكًا لغياب ملاحق مراجعة الكتب التقليدية في الصحف، خاصة في السياق العربي، والتراجع اللاحق في الكتابات الذكية المسهبة حول الأشكال النصية المختلفة، من الخيال إلى السياسة، أخذنا على عاتقنا إحياء هذا الفن، وهكذا ولدت Mate Review of Books كمنظمة مستقلة غير ربحية ملتزمة بالترويج الدقيق ونشر الكتابات الدقيقة والمحفزة على التفكير والمقنعة، وتغطي جميع جوانب الأدب والفنون. إن مسعانا متجذر في إعادة تشكيل مراجعة الكتب التقليدية للعصر الرقمي بينما نمثل بثبات النسيج الغني للمشهد الأدبي والثقافي المتنوع اليوم.

Over time, our project garnered significant success, attracting numerous talented writers to our team. Recognizing the absence, particularly in the Arabic context, of traditional book review supplements in newspapers and the subsequent decline in intelligent, long-form discourse on various textual forms, from fiction to politics, we took it upon ourselves to revive this art.
Thus, Mate Review of Books was conceived as an independent, non-profit organization committed to the meticulous promotion and dissemination of precise, thought-provoking, and compelling writing encompassing all facets of literature and the arts. Our endeavor is rooted in reshaping the conventional book review for the digital age while steadfastly representing the rich tapestry of today’s diverse literary and cultural landscape.

وبعيدًا عن مساعينا الأدبية، فقد تبنينا إحساسًا عميقًا بالمسؤولية الاجتماعية، خاصة خلال الفترات الصعبة التي تواجهها المنطقة. عندما اجتاح جائحة كوفيد-19 تركيا وشمال سوريا، ووسط الارتباك الذي مرت به المنظمات على الأرض وعدم اليقين المحيط بسياسات الإغلاق وحظر التجول، استجبنا بسرعة. زودنا متابعينا ببريد إلكتروني وخط هاتف مخصصين لتوفير أذن صاغية لأولئك الذين سيطر عليهم الخوف والارتباك. لقد تلقينا رسائل صادقة من مختلف البلدان العربية، وقدمنا النصائح للأفراد والقراء العامين. علاوة على ذلك، قمنا بتسهيل التواصل مع المؤسسات المتخصصة للحالات المتقدمة، مما يدل على التزامنا برفاهية مجتمعنا.
Beyond our literary pursuits, we have embraced a profound sense of social responsibility, particularly during challenging periods faced by the region. When the Covid-19 pandemic gripped Turkey and northern Syria, and amid the confusion among NGOs on the ground and uncertainty surrounding closure and curfew policies, we swiftly responded. In a show of unwavering support, we provided our followers with a dedicated email and phone line, offering a listening ear to those gripped by fear and confusion. We received heartfelt letters from various Arab countries, and provided our advice to both individuals and general readers. Moreover, we facilitated connections with specialized institutions for advanced cases, demonstrating our commitment to the well-being of our community.

At the heart of our mission lies a fervent belief in the transformative power of education. Since 2019 we design and implement diverse programs that cater to a wide spectrum of learners, ranging from creative writing workshops and language classes to graphic design training, held in our partner centers such as North Culture Center, or online. By offering these educational opportunities, we enable individuals to develop valuable skills, enhance their creativity, and broaden their perspectives. Our dedication to empowering individuals through education and skill development remains unwavering.

in the aftermath of the February earthquake that struck Turkey and North Syria, we received a generous grant from Etijaht, enabling us to establish our own physical center. This center embodies our core values of “learning, healing, and growing,” providing a nurturing environment free from rigid ideologies. During the grant period, we embarked on a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with Al-Qaiama Alan, focusing on the training and documentation of oral history, thereby enriching our understanding of our heritage, and empowering the community’s role in shaping the historical memory.
